As sweat poured off my brow I looked over at the planter bed set, tilled and ready to be planted. I walked over to my heirloom seed vault and pulled out tomatoes, sweet onions, habeneros, and jalapeno packages. I sat down and reflected on the work that it took me to plan my four season sustainable vegatable planter box garden. It was truly a joy to start getting the soil ready, and slowly one day at a time build up the boxes using retainer wall blocks. As it started to materialize I recognized perfect locations for a compost bin, crawling wall, fruit tree area, and of course a couple solar power water fountains. It costs money for sure at this point I have put over a thousand dollars into the project, but it will pay hundreds full in years to come with boutafull crops. Heck what should I do with my hard earned money at this point, put it in a bank and earn one dollar a year interest!
This is the picture of resistance today in America. It is taking what time and money that you have and investing it into yourself, not banks, stocks, bonds, or consumer junk. It is working with your own hands, to build, sculpt, plant, and labor. It is learning to live a life that is as self reliant as possible.
Think about this a bit. If you have $10,000.00 sitting in a savings account or IRA, or CD, what is happening to it. It is getting slapped with fees, earning basically zero interest, and yes if invested in stocks over the past 10 years has earned $125.00 dollars total. How much longer or more pain will it take before we all realize the banking and investment market for the average person is gone, dried up, a scam, meant to do nothing but take from you what you have worked so hard far. Not only have you earned nothing on your money, but in fact you have LOST accourding to government inflation statistics 27% of the original purchase power of the money, to real and honest ecconomists far more. After inflation your $10,000.00 over 10 years has the purchasing power of close to $7,000.00.
Are you tired of spending your time and effort on trying to get politicians elected? Are you tired of walking neighborhoods, handing out flyers for canidates only to see once they get in office no longer caring about you and voting exact opposite of what they said they would when running for office. Are you sick of watching you home values continue to sink, food and gas costs skyrocket while you work yourself to death for another year of going backwards in your savings account, not forward. How much longer can you keep doing this?
Resistance today means accepting the truth that America is set to financial collapse, our government has been overtaken and is completly corrupted on both sides of the aisle, and what is set to rain down on you is not a thunderstorm but a tsunami of a police state that will take away you every right and personal freedom in the name of the “greater good”.
Once you accept the truth than you can decide to take what financial resources you have left and begin to put them work in your quest for self reliance. You will start purchasing solar panels, batteries, dehydrated food, water, gasoline, propane, lighting, beans and bullets. You will begin to stockpile basic supplies such as toilet paper, soap, toothpaste and deoderant. You will purchase a gun, bow, pepper spray, or start taking self defense classes.
You will look at your back yard filled with grass that costs you hundreds a year in water,that produces nothing and decide to change it into a vegatable garden, build a windmill, heck chickens and cows if possible. Your mind will start filling with ideas of how to be self sufficient, start building solar panels, (not that hard), putting water tanks under your gutters, and place tiki torches around the perimeter of your house with plenty of back up fuel.
Being self reliant is just one way to resist the ever expanding police state and coming economic collapse; Obvioussly I try to wake people up and train them by writing a blog. Maybe it is time for you to start standing on street corners on Saturday holding a sign. Perhaps you should begin teaching your family what an emergency plan is and how to prepare for one. Perhaps you should knock on your neighbors doors and see if they see the truth the way you do, and put together some plans.
Resistance today IS NOT voting for Obama or Romney. It is not supporting our broken and corrupt system with your money or time. Resistance IS NOT giving your money to police organizations, paying more taxes or screaming that you “support our troops”.
It is just a matter of time before you will not be able to afford gas, food, or to pay your electric bill. If you are resisting today, you will be in a much better position to help and support your friends and family then if you just keep going along with the system today hoping that things are going to get better.
